I’m excited to announce that our new year of choir begins on September 15, 2010! I’m really looking forward to leading the children in the praise and worship of our heavenly Father. We already have some tentative performance dates for the fall and are going to be working on a special performance for the Christmas Eve service at Blue Ridge. Get Out of That Pit
For women of any age
Are you in a pit or have you ever been in one? Not sure how to get out of that pit? Your loving God is just waiting to pull you up and away from that stronghold. Join us for a study of Beth Moore’s book, “Get Out of That Pit: Straight Talk About God’s Deliverance” on Wednesday nights starting September 15 from 7-8:30. The study will be facilitated by Andria Donnelly at the home of Terri Stocker in Round Hill. Please email Andria at tdonn32761[at]verizon.net by September 1 so that a book can be ordered for you. The cost of the book is $10. Please call Terri (number in directory) for directions to her home. There is not as much homework with this study as you might see in other Beth Moore studies.
A Woman’s Heart: God’s Dwelling Place
For young women ages 17+
If you’re serious about pursuing God this fall, consider joining the Beth Moore study “A Woman’s Heart: God’s Dwelling Place.” This study is geared towards upper high school, college, young married, or new-to-the career-scene ladies, 17 years old and up. The study will meet on Tuesdays, September 7 through November 16 at the Purcellville homes of Chrissy Schneider and Brittany Paist. Workbooks are $15. As part of the ongoing work of the strategic planning process currently underway at Blue Ridge Bible Church, the Communications Implementation Team would like to take a brief survey regarding the forms of communication used by the church. All responses are anonymous and much appreciated. Please click here to take the survey.
This fall, join with your fellow brothers in learning how to pursue your life dreams. The Great Adventure is a 20-session study that creates a vision for a man’s future and destiny. It will help you rediscover the adventure of life through a greater understanding of who you are. You will uncover the uniqueness you have as a man and discover a satisfying life focus. It will challenge you to consider several important questions such as: “Who am I?,” “What are my life dreams?,” and “Do I have courage to pursue those dreams?” If you’re interested in learning more on how you can join this Wednesday morning study, contact Jon Tigges (jon.tigges@gmail.com). The start date is yet to be determined but will be in September. Space is limited so don’t delay.
The 2010/2011 year begins on Sunday, September 12th! Registration begins at 5:30 pm. Our registration costs have not changed in several years. Dues are $25 per clubber with additional costs for supplies. This cost covers the ENTIRE year! We meet for a total of 29 weeks so it is less than a dollar per week to train your child to know God better and love Him more.
Our leader training will take place on Sunday, August 29th from 7 to 9 pm for Sparks/Cubbie Leaders and Friday, September 10th from 7 to 9 pm for T&T/Trek Leaders. If you are feeling the Lord tugging at your heart to participate in this dynamic ministry which reaches boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and trains them to serve Him, please contact Earl & Geni Hall (earl@phc.edu, genihall@aol.com).
We also have an opportunity for youth to lead. Leaders-in-Training is for clubbers age 14 to 18. We have an LIT program that trains tomorrow’s leaders today. Each week, the LIT’s get practical training working as a leader and modeling their Christian walk to younger clubbers. In addition, the LIT’s are required to complete the 24/7 Bible curriculum which helps keep the LIT’s grounded in prayer, Bible memorization and scripture reading. This is an excellent program for the older teens who feel called to lead the next generation in their spiritual training. Attendance at the Leader’s Training meeting on August 29 or September 10 is required.
