Children's Classes - Birth through 6th Grade

 Adult Classes - Meet on the bottom floor.
  • The Doctrine of Salvation: Is there any greater question in the universe then, "What must I do to be saved?" Come join us as we walk through the doctrine of salvation in all its aspects. Using the doctrinal statement of the church as our reference we will discuss the agreed upon and controversial aspects of this most important doctrine. In addition, we will seek to find out how this is more than knowledge for us, but how these great truths show themselves in our daily lives.

  • Celebrating God's Redemptive Plan: Holidays have great meaning and we look forward to celebrating such times with family and friends. God established His holidays in Leviticus 23 as times to rejoice as well as to reflect, and these observances encapsulate the essential events of God's overall plan of redemption for His people. This class will examine these God-appointed days with a special emphasis on the Passover Seder, a celebration that finds its every fulfillment in Jesus and His redemptive work and sacrifice. We will show you how to make this wonderful celebration a very meaningful and joyful tradition in your family life!

  • The Patriarchs: In this class, we'll study the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. We'll see how God shows His faithfulness in the lives of His people, and we'll see how God's people grow in faith as a result of God's work in their lives. Please join us for a thought-provoking look at some of the most fascinating characters in the Bible!
    Taught by Steve Heidorn

  • True Masculinity: This class is part of the men's discipleship, and thus open only to men. True masculinity isn't measured by strength but by 20 biblical guidelines drawn from 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. It will use the book, The Measure of a Man by Gene Getz to look closely at the spiritual maturity profile of a man. Books will be distributed at the first class and are $10 each.

This class is one of four adult Sunday School classes being offered this quarter.

In the early days of the church, no single doctrinal development was as important as the Trinity – as taught systematically in the New Testament. In fact, many were deemed as heretics because of their false teachings with regard to various aspects of this doctrine (such as the denial of both the full deity and the ful humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ).

Even today many cults come to our doors to teach us their thoughts on this doctrine! Join us as we examine this foundational truth through an investigation of our statement of faith, the teachings and heresies in the early church, and by examining the Scriptures to find its importance to us today. We’ll discover that the more we know of God’s revelation of Himself, the deeper our love for Him will be! Newcomers and Membership Class

If you would like to become a member of Blue Ridge or simply get more acquainted with what we are about, then come to our next class during the Sunday School hour on the four Sundays in February. Anyone (even current members who want to know more about the church) from ages 13 and up can come. Some of the topics discussed are baptism and communion, what membership means, service, spiritual gifts and how to specifically apply them to this body, and our form of government. The demeanor is relaxed and open for discussing and answering your questions. We are adding one more adult Sunday School class.  It’s an eight-week study of spiritual gifts, taught by John Casserino, beginning July 13 at 9:45 a.m.  And don’t forget we also have another terrific class on Romans 5-8 taught by Steve Heidorn.  Come join in, enjoy the fellowship, and learn the Bible together this summer!
