Get Out of That Pit
For women of any age
Are you in a pit or have you ever been in one? Not sure how to get out of that pit? Your loving God is just waiting to pull you up and away from that stronghold. Join us for a study of Beth Moore’s book, “Get Out of That Pit: Straight Talk About God’s Deliverance” on Wednesday nights starting September 15 from 7-8:30. The study will be facilitated by Andria Donnelly at the home of Terri Stocker in Round Hill. Please email Andria at tdonn32761[at]verizon.net by September 1 so that a book can be ordered for you. The cost of the book is $10. Please call Terri (number in directory) for directions to her home. There is not as much homework with this study as you might see in other Beth Moore studies.

A Woman’s Heart: God’s Dwelling Place
For young women ages 17+
If you’re serious about pursuing God this fall, consider joining the Beth Moore study “A Woman’s Heart: God’s Dwelling Place.” This study is geared towards upper high school, college, young married, or new-to-the career-scene ladies, 17 years old and up. The study will meet on Tuesdays, September 7 through November 16 at the Purcellville homes of Chrissy Schneider and Brittany Paist. Workbooks are $15. Hamilton Baptist Church invites BRBC women to their Spring Fling Women’s Conference, April 24, at HBC to hear Kathy Drown, daughter of missionary Nate Saint. Topic is “Forgiveness Is Not An Option.” Cost is $25 before April 12; $35 after (includes lite breakfast & lunch); For info, contact Renee Sander at womensministry@hamiltonbaptist.com.

Life for Kathy has been anything but ordinary. Having lived in many countries, she thinks of herself as a world citizen. Born in Ecuador, South America, a beautiful land of perpetual spring, Kathy learned early to appreciate God’s creativity. That is, until 1956, when her father Nate Saint, along with four other missionaries, were martyred by a group of stone-aged Indians. This major event had a profound influence on her life, though she says, faith in God is never inherited but often learned through tough experiences. During high school, she requested that she be baptized by her father’s converted killers. The river where her father’s body was found became her baptismal waters.

Her goal is to challenge and admonish women to examine their lives, letting God bring about change in the light of His Word.

Calling on her training in biblical counseling, Margaret will share the patterns of behavior that lead to a descent into depression. She will also offer hope and encouragement that a different path will allow you to ascend to a joy-filled, abundant life in which Christ is all. You will discover how to attain true joy and also ways you can assist others in living a joyfully abundant life.

• Take note of the cancellation policy: As of Monday, February 22, the hotel will charge BRBC for all reserved rooms. Therefore we are unable to provide refunds for cancellations received after Friday, February 19.

• If you would like to donate funds (in any amount) to allow a woman to attend the retreat, indicate this on your registration form.
• Free Babysitting: Free babysitting is provided for nursing mothers during the teaching sessions. If you are planning to bring a nursing baby, and need childcare during the teaching sessions please indicate your need on your registration form. This will allow us to provide the appropriate number of caregivers.

Ladies, there are several new weekly Bible studies starting up this spring that you won’t want to miss! If you are looking for meaningful, consistent, godly fellowship with other women, this is a great place to start. Each study involves ordering a book, so please contact the study leader by March 1 if you are interested in joining one of these great studies.

Proverbs Study

Description: Got wisdom? Want more? The Book of Proverbs show us not only the crucial starting place for true wisdom, but also the outworking of wisdom in everyday life. Come join other women as we study the workbook, “Woman of Wisdom: Lessons for Living from the Book of Proverbs” by Myrna Alexander. The study covers the “getting” of wisdom and how that impacts our relationships with God, families, friends and others.

Isaiah Study

Time of meeting: Tuesday evenings, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Shipe home in Purcellville
Description: Join with other women as we study the book of Isaiah from the LifeChange series published by NavPress. This verse-by-verse Bible study takes a deeper look at the meaning of the name Isaiah, meaning the “Lord’s Salvation”. Participants will gain a firm foundation in Isaiah and apply scriptures to their lives.

Experiencing God Study

Description: Are you hungering for a more personal relationship with and understanding of God? Then you won’t want to miss this opportunity to study the well-known book “Experiencing God” by Henry Blackaby. For more than 15 years, God has used “Experiencing God” in His work, showing believers how to know Him intimately while encouraging them to step out in faith and join Him in His work with miraculous results.

Ladies, you don’t want to miss our 2nd Annual Chocolate Night on Tuesday, October 14, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Invitations were mailed, listing the location nearest you and your hostess’ name to RSVP. Invite a friend or neighbor to go with you for a fun evening with games and lots of chocolate (healthy snacks too!). Attention ladies, our monthly Bible Study and Ladies Fellowship begins again on Friday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to Noon, and will continue to meet the last Friday of every month. The group is starting an excellent study using the book, Becoming a Woman of Freedom, by Cynthia Heald (covering topics such as laying aside anxiety, laying aside bitterness, etc.). Books are available to pick up from Karen Gill or Vickie Farris. Chapter 1 (Laying Aside Hindrances: Running with Freedom) will be covered on September 26, so contact Karen or Vickie now to be prepared for the first meeting.

The class “Becoming a Titus 2 Women” will be studying a book of the same title by Martha Peace and is designed as a prerequisite to our women’s discipleship program. If you are interested in being discipled one-on-one by another woman or learning how to disciple another woman (perhaps your own daughter) in her walk with Christ, this is the class for you. The women who attended this class last fall were incredibally encouraged in their Christian walk and nearly 50 of them went on to join our women’s discipleship program. You will be challenged and blessed by this class! Vickie Farris will be leading the class which starts on September 7. Space is limited to the first 25 women who sign up for the class. (If you have taken the class last year, please allow new women to sign up.) This class repeats every fall.
