Ireland — Short term missions update
July 1st, 2009 | By Missions Committee | Posted in Get Involved, MissionsFrom Patrice–
Two days until we leave! Expect the unexpected – that always seems to be the case with our family mission trips. Maybe that’s how it is with all mission trips.
Please continue to pray for our health. We had one little one with what seemed to be a stomach bug yesterday and a couple others not feeling great.
WEXFORD – week 1: There are 30 children signed up for a.m. camp and 20 signed up for p.m. camp and our friend is expecting that we will get more. I just found out today that I need to write six puppet skits for the camps. Please pray for my inspiration to clearly share the Gospel through these skits.
Our friend says the church there is under spiritual oppression and the men especially are feeling the weight and struggling. Please pray for them and that God would use us to be an encouragement.
BALLYCASTLE – week 2: We just spoke to our friend there and found out that her and her husband’s requests for visa renewals have been rejected. They have to leave the country before we get there! We are still planning on going and volunteering at Corrymeela Centre. It is possible that their visas could be worked out in NY and they would be allowed to return a couple days before we leave. Please pray for their visas to go through, for their peace in this difficult situation, for our work at Corrymeela and safety up in Northern Ireland.
We will hope to communicate with occasional email updates while we are there, though it will depend greatly on our internet/computer access.
We thank each of you for your prayers going up for us.
