Reminder for Business Meeting & weekly info

Congregational Meeting this Sunday, May 15
All members are encouraged to attend the congregational meeting May 15, immediately after the 11:00 service, to vote on David Parker as the candidate being recommended by the elders for youth pastor. There will also be a vote to change the budget to include his salary package. Childcare for ages 2-8 years will be provided during this brief meeting.

5-Day Backyard Bible Clubs
Come to the table at the back of the auditorium on May 15, 22 and 29 to sign up as leaders (14+ years) or host families. If you are new-but-curious to this idea, come to a meeting on Sunday, May 22, 12:30 in the library.

Summer Sunday Schedule
In order to give our teachers a much needed summer break, our Sunday classes will have the following changes from June 12 through August 28. At 9:30, there’s childcare for 0-3 years only in the nursery during the worship service. Vacation Bible School (ages 4-12) is all summer during the 11:00 worship hour plus the regular childcare in toddlers & nursery rooms. No classes for other ages at either hour. The Gospel Project will resume in September. Volunteers (15+ years) are needed to serve in VBS. Contact Regina Gossage () for more information.

Women’s Coffee & Conversation – May 23
All BRBC women (18 years & up) are encouraged to attend our last Coffee & Conversation before the summer break. We will also include a “shower” for the church nursery. Details are on The City, or contact our hostess Jan Murphy ( or 540-338-2480).

Praise & Prayer
We are grateful for the large group of people committed to serving in Romania this summer. Part 1 of the team leaves this Sunday, May 15 – Katie Caswell, Thomas Garber, Felicity Harris and Abby Stocker. They would appreciate our prayers for them from May 15 to July 3, for safe travels, good health, wisdom and God’s love to shine in all they do, and a great impact for His glory as they teach and serve the Romanian youth. The blog to keep up with this group is r2r2016.wordpress.com.

Returning to our study in Hebrews from 5:11-6-1a, Pastor Jack shared that God expects His children to mature in faith. What does “mature” look like? And why are some of His children still only on milk instead of solid food? Listen to “The Expectation of Maturity” to find out more.
