Ridge Notes for August 27, 2015

Most Important Reminder of the Summer….

There’s only one worship service this coming Sunday, August 30, at 11:00 a.m. The kids, who have been attending the VBS this summer, need to be checked in by their parents and then brought to the auditorium by 10:50 a.m. in order to be in place on stage. After they share some songs that they learned this summer, they will be taken downstairs for their last VBS time. Don’t miss this great time together as a church family!

Fall Sunday School – The Gospel Project
Please take time to stop by the foyer table to sign up yourself and your family to attend the Gospel Project, which is our new Sunday School curriculum for all ages, beginning September 6. Also, please sign up to be blessed by serving a rotation in children’s ministry. To assist the staff in making teacher and classroom assignments, everyone who is attending is encouraged to sign up by today.

Annual Congregational Meeting & Town Hall
Our Annual Congregational Meeting and Potluck are September 19. The FY2016 budget and bios of those being recommended for elder and deacon positions were sent to members via The City on August 26. Photocopies are available for pick up on August 30. If you have questions about the budget, bring them to our Town Hall meeting on September 6, 6:00 p.m. Please RSVP for the meeting & potluck on The City.

LIFE Groups Resume
During the week of September 13 our next 10-week session begins. The bulletin flyer describes our concept of LIFE groups. Please be in prayer about your involvement this year. It is absolutely the best way to develop relationships here!

Financial Peace University
Starting September 17 we will offer Financial Peace University classes on Thursday nights at the church at 7:00 p.m. This is the financial planning method developed by author Dave Ramsey. Childcare will be provided. Go here to register and purchase the kit of important tools you’ll need to succeed in the class. After registering, join the class group  on The City so that Harley and Adrienne Green (our faithful class leaders) can more easily keep in touch with you.

On August 23 Pastor Jack shared the “Blessing of Being Spent”  from Acts 20. In that passage, Paul shared that his sacrifices of his time, energy, and money were “all in”, holding nothing back, for the work of the ministry. We were also encouraged by the testimonies of four people who are “all in” for sacrificial ministry here and at the Joni & Friends Camp this summer. So what distractions are holding you back from being “all in”?
