Ridge Notes for October 8, 2015

SERVING THE COMMUNITY — This weekend is the Purcellville Townwide Treasure Sale on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you attend and visit any vendors that have used clothing, please tell them to bring their leftover clothes to BRBC for our Annual Clothing Exchange next weeke nd. They can drop off clothing on October 15 or 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Also invite people to our community giveaway on Saturday, October 17 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. All of these are opportunities to help the community, bring people to our church building, and provide more clothes for our exchange and giveaway. And if you can volunteer to sort clothes during the exchange, contact Courtney Shipe ().

Join “Tom’s Crew”
Do you have skills or interest in serving on the Worship and A/V Ministry Team? For more information or to see how you could best serve, please come to an informational meeting on October 18, at 12:25 p.m. in the quad.

Clothing Exchange & Giveaway
The clothing exchange is a time to get rid of those clothes that no one in your house is wearing and to share the clothes with others, as well as to clothe your family with the “new” stuff you find. It’s happening here on October 15 & 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The giveaway is on October 17 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon for the community to share in our abundance. Details for participating are on The City > Calendar > October 15 or contact Courtney Shipe ().

Baby Shower
On October 25, at 2:00 p.m., all BRBC women are encouraged to come together to honor Emily Cook and Baby Andrew, and Bethany Johns and her soon-to-be born daughter at a baby shower hosted by Jan Bode. RSVP on The City or to Jan ().

Praise & Prayer
Join together in thanksgiving for Katey Craig, who is being baptized today. Pray for this young lady to grow in her relationship with Jesus all her days.

Pastor Jack continued in I Thessalonians 5 with “Scent of a Christian” in verses 16-23. He began with some important questions to answer: When it comes to the Gospel, what do you REALLY believe? Does your belief affect your day? What is the “aroma” you leave in a room because of what and how you believe?
