Romanian orphan to get cancer treatment in Bucharest

Update from Jayme, April 28:

Christian [Romania Reborn's Executive Director] was able to meet “Alan” [see this post] during her recent visit to Romania.

Alan is still in [Hope House Director] Corina’s personal care, and Christian told me that Corina is showering him with attention and has become extremely attached to him. Alan is scared, suffering, and confused, but Corina’s presence is a great comfort to him.

Unfortunately, the doors in Great Britain seem to be closed, so Alan will receive treatment for his eye cancer in Bucharest. This week, Alan will travel to Bucharest and will start receiving radiation for one week prior to surgery. Corina will travel with Alan but is unable to stay in Bucharest, so she has found a trustworthy friend (who is also a nurse) to stay with Alan during his recovery.

Please pray:
- that Corina will also be able to find a trustworthy person to be an advocate for Alan at the hospital (communicating with doctors on his behalf).
- that God would work through the doctors, and that Alan would receive the best possible care for his body, mind, and spirit.
- that God would hold Alan in His loving hands, bring comfort to his spirit, and work His perfect will for his life and future.

Prayer needed for “Lana” and family
Corina asked that we be praying for 4-year-old “Lana” and her foster family. Lana’s foster parents have been some of our best, and they sincerely love Lana. Sadly, Lana’s foster mother has been diagnosed with cancer, and her foster father has been suffering from multiple sclerosis. The foster mother now has to travel to another city to receive chemotherapy, which is making things very difficult for Lana’s care. The foster family is committed to keeping little Lana, and an older foster sister is currently helping a great deal with her care. Please pray that God would bring physical healing to this family, and give them the strength and ability to keep Lana.

Pray for Christian!
Finally, keep Christian in your prayers this week! After an extremely busy 18 days in Romania, she will have 24 hours at home before flying to Dallas for a conference of the Christian Alliance for Orphans. She’s been battling a nasty cold/cough that she picked up in Romania, so pray that she will get caught up on her rest, and that God would strengthen her for the tasks that lie ahead. Also, pray that her time at the CAO conference would bear fruit for the ministry.

We so appreciate you, our faithful prayer warriors. Thank you for your heart for the children of Romania!

Blessings in Christ,
Jayme
