Some new events + Sunday news

We made it!! Blizzard 2016 is only good for a lot of snow stories now. Hope to see you all on Sunday.

Pray for our youth – We are thankful for the youth who signed up to attend our annual DNOW (Discipleship Now) retreat this weekend, for the Liberty University students who will lead it, and for the host families who are housing our youth. It starts Friday evening and goes all day/night Saturday, jointly with Purcellville Baptist. Pray that the Lord will use all that is being taught and heard to change the lives of our young people from here to eternity.

2015 Giving Statements
All donation statements for 2015 were mailed out on January 21. If you did not receive one or if you have questions, please contact Debbie Stevenson ().

Souper Bowl of Caring Outreach Opportunity
On Sunday information cards will be on the table at the back of the auditorium to hand out to your neighbors if you haven’t already. You can also get a pdf of the information on The City. Collect food this coming week and bring it to church no later than February 7. This outreach will introduce us to our neighbors, feed the hungry through the collection of food from our neighbors, and hopefully begin to establish relationships too.

V-Blast Party & Fundraiser for Romania Mission Team
This is a fun event for kids 0-12 years olds while parents go out on a date for Valentine’s Day. Parents, drop off your kids at church on Saturday, February 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The kids will have pizza, play games, make Valentine crafts and end the evening with a movie. There are prizes to kids wearing the most red or pink. Cost: $15 per child/ $50 max per family (all for the Romania Mission Team). Contact Regina Gossage () to make the required reservations so that enough caregivers will be available..

Knowing Christ Book Group
What is better than reading a good book? Sharing it with friends! We are starting a book group focusing on “Knowing Christ” by Mark Jones. Think book club format, not Bible study, using a combination of online and in-person meetings at intervals to discuss how the book is impacting our lives. It starts during the week of February 21. Participants order their own book and sign up on The City by joining the “Knowing Christ book group”. For more info, contact the coordinator Andria Donnelly on The City or
