Spring Work Day & other announcements

Spring Work Day is this Saturday. Even though the weather isn’t supposed to feel like spring, we are still having it.

For those who choose to endure the cold and snow, please bring sturdy rakes and shovels as we are turning over old mulch as well as smoothing out piles of new mulch.

But for those who prefer the warmth inside, there are many tasks to be done, which include washing all of the windows, spackling and painting classrooms, plumbing, electrical fixes, and definitely a lot of cleaning of toys, walls, chairs and tables. Something for everyone to do!

Please join us for any part or all of the time from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A pizza lunch will be served for those who are here around noon. Please RSVP on The City or just show up

Spring LIFE Group Session
The spring session for our LIFE groups began last week but it’s definitely not too late to come. Check out the bulletin flyer for one that is near you or suits you or your family’s needs…and join the community.

Baby shower – April 23
Ladies, we’re having another baby shower on Saturday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m.. This one is for Christina Scott and Baby Oliver (born April 6), hosted by Linda Parker. Please RSVP to Linda Parker (540-454-6476) or on The City.

Benevolence Fund
We maintain a non-budget fund for the purpose of helping with needs within our congregation and in the community. We have had several requests lately and the fund needs replenishing. Please help us by writing “benevolence fund” on your check or in online giving, by clicking on that fund and designating an amount.

Lost & Found
Please check the tubs in closet at the back of the lower level hallway for coats, shoes, gloves, water bottles, and Bibles. Today the kitchen counter will have a display of dishes left from the Women’s Christmas brunch and numerous potlucks. We keep everything for one month and then it’s taken to the thrift store, so think about that missing coat and don’t delay in claiming it. Please see Debbie Stevenson to claim lost jewelry, or parts of jewelry, watches, keys and pocket knives.

We returned back to our study in Hebrews 4:11-16 and God’s rest. “Resting in the Shade of Mercy”  is possible because of Jesus, our Great Sympathizer.
