Fall Clothing Exchange

Clean those closets and get ready for our annual clothing exchange! Mark your calendar today for October 19 – 24, Hours – M –F 9 to 1 pm, Evening shopping hours only Wed/Fri 7 to 9 pm. Clothing accepted through FRIDAY morning with open outreach to the community Sat. morning.

Everyone who drops off clothes is asked to distribute their clothes into the proper categories before shopping. Volunteers are asked to help with the distribution of clothing.

This is primarily an opportunity to clothe our church Body and bless one another so shopping will certainly be open during the entire week we are running. Also, because we have each been abundantly blessed, we want to be able to give back to our community with the free clothing give away on Saturday morning.

We are accepting all sizes gently used clothes, linens, books and baby necessities.

AWANA Leaders Training Dates and Times Announced

Our first Awana meeting will be on September 13th. Our leader training will take place on Sunday, August 28th from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday, September 12th from 7 to 9 pm. BRBC Helping One Another – “freecycle”

Tim Chambers has set up a place where the fellowship at BRBC can post items and services in need or to give. If you have a need, post it here! Maybe another sister, brother, or family may be able to meet it. If you have something to offer, you may find someone has a need for the same. Offer your material goods or your time to serve others in our local body. Anything from household or garden items to an offer to lighten someone’s load by helping them with a project can be a blessing. Please don’t be shy or hold back- others are deeply blessed when given the opportunity to share, give, or serve. Remember that God uses each of us in the body to care for us, oftentimes in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Share your needs as well as your gifts. Let us encourage each other all the more as the Day draws near!

Fall Church Business Meeting, Mark Your Calendar

The fall church business meeting will be September 19 at the church. Will include a potluck followed by the meeting. Mark your calendars and expect additional details to come soon.  No significant issues will be discussed but rather this meeting will be for updating the congregation on various ministries and fellowship. VBS 2009 – Join the Fun!

When:
August 3-7, 9am-noon (kids will perform in the Sunday morning service on August 9th at 11am)

Where:
Blue Ridge Bible Church

Who:
Kids who have completed Kindergarden‐5th grade (Ages 5‐11). Youth Helpers must be 12 years old to assist at VBS. We will have nursery available and a class for kids age 3‐5 for VBS Workers.

Registration:
Will be held on Sunday mornings in the lobby starting July 19th. Cost is $15 per child for ages 3 and older (This covers a t‐shirt, crafts, supplies, and snacks)

Grand Ole Opry Night! July 25, 7 P.M.

Please be our guest as a taste of the Grand Ole Opry is served up here in Northern Virginia! We welcome the Skyline Boys Quartet and comedian Tim Lovelace on Saturday night, July 25, 2009.

The hardest part of any group is finding four guys who fit together and can work as a team. As anyone who has seen them in concert will tell you, these men all have completely different personalities but come together like the great quartets of old. Many are surprised to see that those coming out to their concerts are of every age. Like the Statesmen Quartet in the fifties, the Skyline Boys are forming their own identity with their energetic stage presence and unique sound. If you spend any time with these men off stage or on the bus you will find that laughter is as much a part of them as their music. Their concerts are filled with laughter as the guys prepare the crowd for the message of Christ’s love. The Skyline Boys are blessed to have four guys who fit together in their own way and are all focused on the calling God has placed on their lives.

The Living Last Supper – April 10, 2009

Blue Ridge Bible Church presents a dramatic musical experience for Holy Week: The Living Last Supper. This free event will be April 10 at 7pm.

This show will feature drama, choir, and orchestra as it portrays the Last Supper between Jesus and his 12 disciples. Bring the whole family and invite your friends.
