Fall Clothing Exchange

Clean those closets and get ready for our annual clothing exchange! Mark your calendar today for October 19 – 24, Hours – M –F 9 to 1 pm, Evening shopping hours only Wed/Fri 7 to 9 pm. Clothing accepted through FRIDAY morning with open outreach to the community Sat. morning.

Everyone who drops off clothes is asked to distribute their clothes into the proper categories before shopping. Volunteers are asked to help with the distribution of clothing.

This is primarily an opportunity to clothe our church Body and bless one another so shopping will certainly be open during the entire week we are running. Also, because we have each been abundantly blessed, we want to be able to give back to our community with the free clothing give away on Saturday morning.

We are accepting all sizes gently used clothes, linens, books and baby necessities.

AWANA Leaders Training Dates and Times Announced

Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed!!

Our first Awana meeting will be on September 13th. Our leader training will take place on Sunday, August 28th from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday, September 12th from 7 to 9 pm. BRBC Helping One Another – “freecycle”

Tim Chambers has set up a place where the fellowship at BRBC can post items and services in need or to give. If you have a need, post it here! Maybe another sister, brother, or family may be able to meet it. If you have something to offer, you may find someone has a need for the same. Offer your material goods or your time to serve others in our local body. Anything from household or garden items to an offer to lighten someone’s load by helping them with a project can be a blessing. Please don’t be shy or hold back- others are deeply blessed when given the opportunity to share, give, or serve. Remember that God uses each of us in the body to care for us, oftentimes in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Share your needs as well as your gifts. Let us encourage each other all the more as the Day draws near!

VBS 2009 – Join the Fun!

When:
August 3-7, 9am-noon (kids will perform in the Sunday morning service on August 9th at 11am)

Where:
Blue Ridge Bible Church

Who:
Kids who have completed Kindergarden‐5th grade (Ages 5‐11). Youth Helpers must be 12 years old to assist at VBS. We will have nursery available and a class for kids age 3‐5 for VBS Workers.

Registration:
Will be held on Sunday mornings in the lobby starting July 19th. Cost is $15 per child for ages 3 and older (This covers a t‐shirt, crafts, supplies, and snacks)

We have a lot of new people and perhaps some “old” people who are looking for ways to connect, get involved and serve here at Blue Ridge. The following, set out in just brief bullets, are a few ways and places where we could use some help. These are great opportunities to meet people, to bond together in your productivity and service, and for families to minister together. Church Work Day – November 1

Come one, come all…all ages and all abilities to our Fall Work Day, November 1st, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Come for all or as much as you can. We need to hear from you so that we can plan the projects according to skills available, and so that we have enough food for lunch. Contact Jeff Stocker (Jeffrey.e.stocker[at]aero.org).

Fall Clothing Exchange Coming Up

FALL CLOTHING EXCHANGE NEXT WEEK

Fall Clothing Exchange kicks off on Monday, October 20 through Saturday, October 25. Hours of operation Monday through Thursday are 9 am to 1 pm. There’s a CRUCIAL need for volunteers to help welcome the community on Saturday, October 25th from 8 am to noon. Clothes will be accepted Monday through Thursday only. Adults-only shopping hours will be Wednesday and Friday nights from 7 to 9 pm. We expect TONS of clothes so plan to come and take what you need. If you have never been, the ENTIRE sanctuary is FILLED to overflowing with clothes of all sizes, shapes and colors! Clothing Exchange Enrichment Classes

Next week, there will be enrichment classes running from 9 to noon during the clothing exchange. These classes are for parents who plan to be on-site the entire time helping in the clothing exchange while their kids are in class. You must sign up for classes by Friday, Oct. 17th or there will be no supplies for your child! Classes cost $8 per child, per class and are paid directly to the class instructor.

Classes are:
Tuesday — Mime
Wednesday — Drama
Thursday — Art
Friday — Science

Class sizes ARE limited so sign-ups will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Some classes are almost filled! Do not hesitate to sign up today!
