quest_for_manhoodI’ve been involved with a great group of guys for a Bible Study at Jon Tigges’s house. We are going through a study by Robert Lewis called Men’s Fraternity. It has been excellent. We do it from 6:30 – 8 am every Wednesday at Jon’s house.

New Home Group Starting – February 10

Ladies Fellowship & Bible Study Resumes

Attention ladies, our monthly Bible Study and Ladies Fellowship begins again on Friday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to Noon, and will continue to meet the last Friday of every month. The group is starting an excellent study using the book, Becoming a Woman of Freedom, by Cynthia Heald (covering topics such as laying aside anxiety, laying aside bitterness, etc.). Books are available to pick up from Karen Gill or Vickie Farris. Chapter 1 (Laying Aside Hindrances: Running with Freedom) will be covered on September 26, so contact Karen or Vickie now to be prepared for the first meeting.

Good things come in threes

Have you ever heard the little quip that goes like this, “Good things come in threes!” There‘s some truth to that! Let‘s see…S‘mores (chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows), the American Flag (red, white, and blue), education (reading, writing, and _rithmetic)… and even the best of family entertainment, the 3 Stooges (Larry, Moe, and Curly)!

In the same vein, I would propose a set of good things in a package of three for us at Blue Ridge as well—a rule of three for everyone who is a part of our body. We have so many excellent programs and opportunities in our church for a person to participate in to aid their growth in Christ. How does one choose? With September just around the corner, and all of the new beginnings that happen in that month, it can be difficult to decide what you will be a part of, and what you will not. I‘d like to propose three fundamental areas we could all be a part of when it comes to the church.
