Things not to miss this week

Road to Romania Team Rummage Sale on Saturday
Our Romania team is hosting a 20+ family yard sale in the church parking lot this Saturday, April 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Either stop by and buy something to help raise funds for the team, or “rent” a table for $15.00 to sell your own stuff. They are also having a car wash and a bake sale. Contact Rodney Caswell () if you want to get a table.

Baskets of Blessings
Sunday (May 1) is the pick up day for the Baskets of Blessings. The 24 who were fast enough last Sunday to request a basket to honor a mom (other than your own) need to pick up the basket at the front of the auditorium. Please deliver the basket to these special moms as soon as possible and before Mother’s Day weekend since they include fresh flowers.

Baby Shower (Rescheduled) – May 2
The baby shower for Christina Scott has been rescheduled for May 2, 7:00 p.m., hosted by Linda Parker. Go The City for details and to RSVP, or contact Linda (540-454-6476).

One More Team Member for Joni & Friends Camp
The BRBC team is going to camp, July 31 to August 5 to minister to families with disabled children. The team is in need of at least one female over 21 to join the team. If you might fit into that category, prayerfully consider coming and contact Rich Shipe () immediately.

Congregational Meeting – May 15
On April 17, it was announced that David Parker is the candidate being recommended by the elders for youth pastor. The elders are available for input from the congregation prior to the meeting on May 15.

Honoring Our High School Graduates
In the June 5 worship services, we will honor the 2016 high school graduates from our congregation. If you are one or have one in your family, provide the graduate’s name on a comment card or to no later than May 22. Please note that this is for anyone who is graduating from high school in May or June, from public, private or home schools.

Regretfully, because of mechanical problems on April 24 Pastor Rich’s sermon on Lament Psalms did not get recorded. However, he provided links to contemporary songs which are considered laments and started a dialog about them on The City.  You can also get the informative slides of the sermon by clicking here.
