Volunteer training this weekend & gearing up for Fall

Awana at BRBC begins Year 20 on September 11!!!
Our goal is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him through Bible memorization, lessons and games. If you are interested in joining us as a leader, contact Geni Hall () immediately and plan to attend one of the cross training events on August 21 or 28. Leadership roles fill up fast so we need to hear from YOU! All Awana training will be done at the Cross Training nights. There will not be additional Awana leadership training on other nights as in years past.

For parents who want their children to participate in our Awana program, sign-ups will begin at 3:30 on September 11. Awana meets from September to May on Sundays from 4:00 to 5:30.

Cross Training – August 21 OR August 28
Sunday night is our first meeting for training our valuable volunteers. This is for all ministry leaders, helpers, greeters, etc. It includes free dinner for the whole family, and childcare will be available during the sessions. Please, make every effort to come on either August 21 or 28 if you are a volunteer in children’s ministry, youth, Awana, welcome team, or the security team,

Middle School Youth Group Resumes
Calling all 6th through 8th graders to our Middle School Youth Group’s first meeting on Wednesday, September 7, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. It meets every Wednesday in the school year for games, worship, learning, and discussion. Parent volunteers are needed each week to help out with games. For more information, contact Julia Shaw-Fuller ().

Normandy, France Missions Service Team
From September 24-October 8, a team of seven is going to France to encourage and support our missionary, Steve Darling and the Greenhouse Normandy Ministry. They will repair, restore and improve the facilities of the Ministry Center. Pray for sufficient funds to cover expenses, supplies and equipment for the projects; spiritual and physical protection, and safe travels. For more information on the trip and to pick up prayer cards, go to their auditorium table on Sunday or contact Francesca Edling ().

On August 14, Pastor Jack boldly went where some pastors may hesitate to go, speaking on the topic of “Lust”. It’s something we all experience, yet rarely talk about, and usually have a wrong definition of it. Click here for Part 1 of “Lust” and what Scripture says about it..
