World Missions this week

World Missions Reminders
Our missionaries in Zimbabwe, Dan and Julie Stephens, will be with us this Sunday, December 6, sharing in the worship service. Dan and Julie serve with the TEAM missions agency at the Karanda Hospital. Dan is the head surgeon and overseer of the hospital and ministry. Julie trains the nurses among many other things. BRBC has supported them as one of our missionaries for over 20 years, and we have sent short-term teams to assist in their ministry. Everyone is encouraged to attend the worship services to hear Dan, as well as make plans to come to the potluck in their honor, after the 2nd service. Please bring a main dish for 10 and a salad or dessert to share.

On another world missions note, please remember to pray for our six people who are in Ghana this week. On Sunday they will attend dedication services for the five churches which we helped fund last year. The team is Jack Gill, Sarah Gill, Allen Bozarth, Jon Garber, and David and Breana Parker.

Churchwide Caroling in the Community – December 20
Come help us spread glad tidings to our community as we sing Christmas carols in neighborhoods and invite people to our Christmas Eve service. We will meet at church at 5:30 p.m., practice a bit, break up in groups, and then return to the church for cookies and cider, ending at 8:00 p.m. Please sign up on The City so that we have enough song sheets and cookies. Bring the whole family for this great evening together!

Christmas Eve Service – December 24, 6:00 p.m.
Everyone is invited to come Christmas Eve as we celebrate the birth of Christ, the Light of Christmas. It begins at 6:00 p.m. and is appropriate for the whole family, friends and neighbors. Childcare is not provided for this one-hour program. Plan to stay after the service for cookies and cider.

Year-End and Online Giving
As we prepare to close out 2015 and consider some year-end giving, please plan to give by December 27 in order to have it included in 2015 donations by the offering. If sending by mail, it must be dated and postmarked by December 31. December 25 is the last day for a scheduled online gift either through The City or your bank. If you would like to be more consistent with your offerings, set up your giving on The City, and make 2016 a more generous, obedient and consistent year. All donations are recorded on The City, so you are able to look up your giving record anytime. Aren’t on The City yet? Contact Rich Shipe ().

From Isaiah 9, Pastor Jack showed us how God gave hope to the Israelites during very troubled times by His promise of the Prince of Peace. A child was coming who also would be the Wonderful Counselor that the world would need. We celebrate this The Child of Hope as we begin the Christmas season.
