Foster families, Christmas tea RSVPs + Good times

Few more slots available to bless the Awig family or Scott family with a meal!

Want to support foster & adoptive families? Check out this timely opportunity. There is a need for volunteers with background checks who are willing to serve by working 1-on-1 with children while their parents enjoy a much needed evening out, this Saturday/Dec 7 from 4-8pm.

Women’s Christmas tea – December 14
Ladies, be sure to sign up for a lovely afternoon on Saturday/December 14! Come celebrate the “Gift of Christmas” with your sisters at BRBC. Sign up here or at the table at the back of the sanctuary on Sunday. It’s on December 14, 2:00-4:00pm, in the sanctuary. There is no fee for this event, other than bringing items for Tree of Life Ministries (list at the link) and a coffee mug. Please let us know that you are coming by December 10.

Short-term mission trip interest meeting – December 15
Pastor David Parker is leading a short-term service & growth trip to support and encourage our missionaries Stephen & Mercy Aputara in Ghana in summer 2020. It’s not too early to explore being a part! Be praying whether God would have you participate, and if you have ANY interest, come get the details at an info meeting on December 15, 12:30pm in the quad.

Christmas eve service – December 24
Our annual family-friendly Christmas Eve service is on Tuesday, December 24, 6:00-7:00pm. We’ll celebrate the birth of our Savior together through song and Scripture. It’s for the whole family; no childcare is provided. And remember, the Christmas season is a natural time to continue our Kingdom Calling outreach! We want to look for ways to connect with the people God has intentionally put in our paths, who may still be lost on their way to Him. See brbible.org/kingdomcalling for some practical, easy suggestions!

Winter weather notice
Just a reminder that we’ll send a message through Blue Ridge Connect and update the church website if any changes will be made to scheduled church activities, especially with winter coming. Please remember to check these before you come to church! Because we have so many people who live in areas where the roads get icy and don’t get cleared, we often decide to cancel Sunday services. Our staff tries to make the call by 7:30am on those Sunday mornings when snow has fallen or is predicted to fall during the worship times.

Anticipating Jesus this season
You may notice some differences in our Sunday worship during December, including instrumentalists and Christmas carols! Pastor Tom and the worship team have crafted a special month to help us prepare our hearts during Jesus’ advent, leading up to our “King is Coming” focus on Christmas Eve.

Trust during the Good Times
Continuing a series this fall on “In Whom Will We Trust” from the book of Isaiah, Pastor Jack taught on Isaiah 39. Listen to “Trust during the Good Times.
