Our mission
We believe the mission of the church was given by Christ in Matthew 28:19-20.
Our mission is to communicate Christ as our living Savior and loving Lord through intentional speech and grace-filled lives. Our mission is to build believers into a unified family, growing in the knowledge of God, experiencing life made new by His grace, and caring for the needs of one another. Our mission is to send servants, every one of us, to interact with lost people wherever they are, meeting their spiritual and physical needs with the love of Christ.
We are a church in Purcellville, Virginia, that possesses and proclaims God’s love, truth, and a certainty of hope during uncertain times. Together we will pursue:
One God
We will express our love for our Triune God in true worship that pleases Him, weekly on Sundays and daily in our personal lives and families. We will be people of prayer, seeking God’s will and work through this church.
One Lord
We are committed to the Lordship of Christ in every area of our lives. We seek to obey Him by knowing His Word, obeying it, and teaching it to our families first and then to all who are willing to make Him Lord together with us. We are focused on making disciples and on practicing personal holiness. We will be prepared to follow Him as Lord even in a society that is hostile to Him and His Word.
One Church
We will practice unity with each other under the Lordship of Christ and unity with all other churches who follow Him as Lord. We will work together as a body of believers and will show our love towards one another as we serve each other by identifying, developing and using the gifts God has given each of us for the benefit of His church. We will seek to resolve all matters of sin and conflict biblically and in love. We will trust God by trusting in His oversight of our leaders as they shepherd His flock.
One Mission
Together, we will obey Christ’s commands to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, love our neighbors as ourselves, and make disciples of all nations. We will declare the good news of the gospel in deed and word and make disciples first in Western Loudoun County where God has planted us. We will, as God grants us the resources, aid others who are declaring the gospel and making disciples in other areas of the United States and throughout the world. We will carry out this mission in peace and without fear of the world around us, knowing that ultimately every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Our Values
What we value determines who we are. Therefore...
-
We value BIBLICAL INSTRUCTION
the Bible being the very written words of God, the final authority for our lives, sufficient to show us who He is and who we are to be. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Isaiah 40:8
-
We value PRAYER
recognizing our church’s desperate need for God to guide, equip, and empower the church to accomplish its ministry aspirations. Acts 2:42; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; Ps 127:1
-
We value a CHRIST-CENTERED UNITY
purposing to diligently pursue it with one another in truth and love. John 17:15-21; 1 Cor. 12:12-31; Eph. 4:1-6; Philip.4:1-3
-
We value DISCIPLESHIP
convinced each person in our church is called to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, and to help lead and instruct others to do the same. Luke 9:23; Titus 2:1-6; 2 Timothy 2:2
-
We value SHARING THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL
going into our community and then the world as humble representatives of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, advancing the gospel by loving others and sharing the good news of the hope we have in Him. Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:19-20; Matthew 28:18-20
-
We value CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
characterized by a vibrant and authentic Christ-centered love of Jesus’ church, gladly sharing our time, possessions, hearts and lives together. Proverbs 27:17; Acts 2:46
-
We value the FAMILY
in accordance with God’s declared design through His Word, each one reflecting His redeeming love for His children and Jesus’ sacrifice for His bride, the Church. While not everyone is called to marriage, we desire to help and equip each home to experience the fullness of God’s blessings and intentions. Eph. 5:22-6:4; Ps 127:3-128:6; Col. 3:18-21
-
We value SERVING OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY
fully aware of God’s call upon our church to compassionately be an active presence, ready to meet their various and pressing needs. James 1:27; Galatians 2:10
-
We value GENEROSITY
being stewards of the resources that God gives us with a desire to use them all for His glory. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:19-21; 9:6-8
-
We value SERVICE-ORIENTED BELIEVERS
knowing that each person is a unique, Holy Spirit-empowered instrument of God, equipped to do works that will glorify Him. Ephesians 4:11-13; Titus 2:3-5; 1 Peter 2:9-10
