Baskets of blessings & other outreach opps

Baskets of Blessings

In a couple of weeks, we will be honoring our own moms. But this Sunday we ask everyone to think of a special mom you know (other than your own or someone at church) such as a friend, neighbor, grocery store clerk, or co-worker to honor. Fill out the bulletin card with the mom you want to honor. Baskets will be given to you on Sunday, May 1st, to deliver to these special moms over Mother’s Day weekend. This Sunday is the only day to submit these names and the baskets go to the first 24 people who bring the card to the table at the back of the auditorium.

Tree of Life Food Pantry

The Purcellville food pantry that we support is low on supplies. They ask us to consider donating any of the following items: baked or dried beans, breakfast foods, canned chicken/meat, canned or boxed potatoes, peanut butter and jelly, canned tomatoes, or rice. You may bring them to the tubbed marked “Tree of Life” in the upper level foyer any Sunday.

Congregational Meeting – May 15

On April 17, it was announced that David Parker is the candidate being recommended by the elders for youth pastor. The elders are available for input from the congregation prior to the meeting on May 15.

From Chapter 5, Pastor Jack continued in our study of Hebrews, with special honor to “Jesus: God’s Perfect High Priest”. God provided Jesus as the one who could fill the gap between God and man as The Perfect High Priest. Our wonderful High Priest helps, intercedes, understands, leads, guides, approves, affirms and accepts His children. How awesome is He!!
