Food & Cross Training

Yes those go together when they are both important reminders:

Y’all come to the potluck this Sunday, August 14, immediately after the 11:00 a.m. service. Our Romania Team will be sharing the exciting opportunities that the Lord gave them in May and June. Please bring your best main dish for 10 people, AND a salad or dessert to share.

Also, calling all current or future leaders, teachers, helpers, and greeters to come to one of our Cross Training events on August 21 or 28. This is for anyone who is currently serving or for those who have wanted to find out how to serve in our various ministries. It’s offered two mirrored nights so surely one of them fits your schedule. Dinner and childcare are provided. It’s from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. on both nights. Sign up on Sunday at the auditorium table.

Serving in our Children’s Ministry
The start-up of the fall children’s classes will soon be here. Many volunteers are needed to serve in these classes. If you would like to join this great team, contact Bethany Johns for nursery () or Regina Gossage for toddlers up through 5th grade (). Sign up now so that you can come to the Cross Training event for all of our volunteers.

Cross Training – August 21 OR August 28
What is “Cross Training”, you ask? It’s a different way to host the training of our valuable volunteers. This is for all ministry leaders, helpers, greeters, etc. offered on two mirrored nights. It includes free dinner for the whole family, and childcare will be available during the sessions. Please, please make every effort to come on just one of the nights that fits your schedule. See the flyer for details on how to sign up or go to the auditorium table.

Praise & Thanks
Many thanks to Joey Baer, his family and Scout Troop 711 for putting in the playground climbing dome for Joey’s Eagle Scout Project. We praise our God for bringing Joey to this great milestone and choosing to improve our playground.

On August 7, Pastor Jack switched from our Hebrews series, to the Book of Proverbs for a few weeks. The first in this series called ‘Discipleship in a Digital Age” was on our speech and how it reveals what’s in our hearts. See if you need a heart transplant by listening to “Words” Revealers of our Heart.”
