Help Give Relief To Florence Victims

In the aftermath of Hurricane Florence hitting the coast of North Carolina, Blue Ridge Bible Church will be conducting a campaign throughout the month of October to raise funds to assist a church in Emerald Isle, NC.

We have a goal of $20,000 to assist with:

  • the rebuilding of the old half of Emerald Isle Chapel by the Sea which was severely damaged by the hurricane,
  • the repairs to the homes of some of their congregation, and
  • provision of grocery cards to members and others in poorer neighborhoods in the vicinity of the church, including many who have at least temporarily lost their jobs until their employers can rebuild/repair their shops/facilities

Emerald Isle Chapel by the Sea is an evangelical church of a little over 200 people during the summer season and around 130 during the off-season. We are familiar with Emerald Isle Chapel by the Sea because one of their members, Brian Bernhardt, is a field representative for Smyrna Ministries International, a BRBC-supported missions organization, and has spoken at BRBC on several occasions.

Earlier this year, Pastor Jack preached a sermon on some of the ways the Lord is using His church for restoration. We have a real opportunity to help some of our brothers and sisters in Christ (and some unsaved people as well) to restore their church, their homes, and their lives in a very concrete, practical way.

If you would like to help reach our goal of $20,000 to assist Emerald Isle Chapel by the Sea, write a check to BRBC with “hurricane relief” written on the memo line and drop it in the offering plate. Or you can give online and designate the gift for hurricane relief. Thank you in advance for taking part in the restoration of Emerald Isle Chapel by the Sea and its people! Please talk with any of the elders or staff if you have any questions, or email the church office.
