Ridge Notes for October 1, 2015

The three “worlds” from our church logo are now on display on the back wall of the auditorium. Many thanks to Ken Shipe for beautifully crafting them for us. The ministry sign-up and display tables that we have had in the foyer will now be using this area under the related “circle” for Communicating Christ, Building Believers and Sending Servants. This coming Sunday we will focus on the Local Missions Team ministry under the Communicating Christ circle.

Local Missions Opportunity
Our Local Missions Team is looking for people to join the team for 2015-2016 to develop outreach projects for BRBC. For more information, go to the Communicating Christ table at the back of the auditorium on Sunday.

Join “Tom’s Crew”
Do you have skills or interest in serving on the Worship and A/V Ministry Team? For more information or to see how you could best serve, please come to an informational meeting on October 18, at 12:25 p.m. in the quad.

Clothing Exchange & Giveaway
The clothing exchange is a time to get rid of those clothes that no one in your house is wearing and to share the clothes with others. It’s happening here on October 15 & 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The giveaway is on October 17 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon for the community to share in our abundance. Details for participating are on The City > Calendar > October 15 or contact Courtney Shipe (). Information cards to hand out at the Town Treasure Sale are available in the foyer and on the Communicating Christ table.

Refuge on Friday Nights
“Refuge” is our fellowship and study group for college and young career aged adults. It meets most Friday evenings. Check out the list of events in the bulletin calendar section and contact Megan Rafalski () for location, details and to join their group on The City.

Baby Shower
On October 25, at 2:00 p.m., all BRBC women are encouraged to come together to honor Emily Cook and Baby Andrew, and Bethany Johns and her soon-to-be born daughter at a baby shower hosted by Jan Bode. RSVP on The City or to Jan ().

Pastor Rich continued in our series in I Thessalonians with “Life With One Another” from 5:12-15. Because of self-deception, we forget what God has done for us when we focus on ourselves instead of Him, His Word and His people. That makes the day-to-day life with one another off focus and hard to do.
