Ridge Notes for October 15, 2015

Special Christian Movie Event this weekend!
A new movie is coming out this weekend called “Woodlawn”. It is based on a true story of how love, unity and the Gospel overcame hate and division in early 1970s Birmingham. The movie depicts Bear Bryant‘s drive to racial reconciliation in the Crimson Tide, NFL Superstar Tony Nathan’s coming to Christ and coming of age, as well as the story of an inspirational and influential high school and team. Many of the team members came to Christ, inspiring family members and fellow students – an impact that spread to surrounding schools and communities. As with all movies, the success of the first weekend that it’s release determines how long it will stay in theaters. It’s being shown at the Cobb Theater in Leesburg, the Dulles Town Center Regal, and the Apple Blossom Theater in Winchester. This would be a great opportunity to take friends and neighbors to a well done movie and hear the Gospel at the same time.

Did You Know…
…that some men in our church serve on Sunday mornings to keep us safe and to serve those who come through our doors for each worship service? Our Security Team is in need of more (not few) good men (18 years & older). It’s a great way to serve the church at a time when you are already going to be here. The more men on the team, the less frequent the assigned time to serve. Contact Mark Dillmuth () to sign up.

Did You Know…
…that we have a wonderful church library full of quality and biblically sound books, tapes and DVDs? It’s located in Room 104 on the lower level, is available to everyone who attends Blue Ridge, and is open any time the church is open. We also accept donations of Christian books and DVDs which are reviewed by our librarian, Andria Donnelly. So come see our great library and check out a book!

Pastor Jack finished I Thessalonians 5 with “In The Grip of Grace” in verses 23-38.  Listen and find out the ways God’s movement towards us allows us to then move towards His Word and towards others, all within the grip of His Grace.
