Stock the pantry, JAF + misunderstanding

This Sunday is your chance to bring your food items to “stock the pantry” and replenish Tree of Life Ministries’ shelves and ability to help those with needs in our community! Read more below.

Also this Sunday, remember to stay for the Joni & Friends interest meeting to learn more about the trip and how to serve families with members who have special needs. 12:30pm in room 104.

“Stock the Pantry” effort – February 10
Want to be a part of meeting the needs of those affected in the recent government shutdown? You can still contribute by bringing any of the following items to church by 5:30pm Sunday night: Mayo, mustard, ketchup, bbq sauce, peanut butter, jelly, salad dressing, salt/pepper pairs, flour, cereal, chips/crackers/snacks (not individually wrapped sizes), fruit snacks, canned potatoes, boxed potato sides, beans (dried is preferred) coffee, tea, hot cocoa. Also note that this is a practical way we support Tree of Life Ministries throughout the year—we always have a TOL drop-off point in the upstairs lobby and you are welcome to donate food items anytime.

Middle school retreat – February 15-17
Middle school students, THIS SUNDAY is your final chance to sign up for an awesome winter retreat with Pastor David this weekend, February 15-17 at Camp Highroad! Visit the table at the back of the sanctuary to learn more and register at brbible.org/msretreat.

Baptism service & celebration – February 17
Come out a week from this Sunday evening at 7:00pm for a special celebration together. We’ll celebrate the lives Jesus has transformed and see testimonies through baptism, enjoy worship, and mark Pastor David’s recent ordination—all followed by an ice cream social.

A Misunderstanding
Continuing in a series in the book of Joshua called “From Promise to Victory,” Pastor Jack preached from Joshua chapter 22. This passage illustrates how much easier it is to misunderstand a situation and react out of emotion than to find out the objective truth. We are reminded, however, that our unity as Christians is guarded in and through truth, and that with communication and God’s discernment we can remain united through His Spirit. Listen to “A Misunderstanding.
