Youth Group Cancelled 3/15

Youth Group is cancelled for this week (3/15) due to poor road conditions. I know the main roads look good, but the dirt roads and back roads are still narrow and icy. It makes me nervous having so many people driving home in the dark (especially those who live on back roads) in these icy conditions.

Therefore I’ve decided to cancel youth group for tonight. Next Wednesday (3/22) is supposed to be sunny and in the 50s so we will regroup then!

Encouraging Thought:

Matthew 18:1-4 (NLT) About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”  Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.”

My prayer for our group is that we boldly rest on Jesus Christ for everything. That we humbly acknowledge we are needy but rest assured that like a good Father He always provides and He is always faithful to us. Our instinct is to seek the world’s approval, recognition and higher ranking for security and rest, but that is vanity/useless my friends.

Focused Prayer!

I encourage YOU to spend some focused time on your knees in prayer— either now or set a reminder for later. Find a quiet place! Pray for the people in your youth small group and try to be as specific as you can. If your not sure what to pray for read and pray Ephesians 1:18-23 and Matthew 6:9-13 — let these scriptures guide your prayer.

Intentional Encouragement!

Then text or call a friend God has brought to mind to encourage them. Remember its the Spirit of God that powerfully unites us as we fix our eyes on Jesus!

I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday or next Wednesday!
