Christmas Parties, The King is Coming + Lay Hold

Know any college students or young adults home for Christmas? Invite them to the Young Adult Christmas party this Friday! Details below.

BLESSing your neighbor during this season: The Christmas season is a natural time to continue our outreach from the fall and BLESS the folks God has intentionally put in your path, who may still be lost on their way to Him. See brbible.org/bless for suggestions!

How much communication & what type do you want to receive? Did you realize you can control that? Check out the bulletin flyer on Sunday or follow the step-by-step FAQ to adjust your comm settings! (Not a part of Blue Ridge Connect yet? Visit brbible.org/connect today.)

Young Adults Christmas party – December 21
Join the young adults group (ages 18 and older) on Friday, December 21 for a Christmas party—and feel free to invite students who may be home from college on break. Come dressed in your ugliest Christmas sweater for a night of carols, games and dinner! 7:00-10:00pm at Stuart & Anna Vermaak’s. Please RSVP to 540 878 0191 or on the Facebook invite.

Christmas Eve service & BLESS your neighbor – December 24
Come to our annual family-friendly Christmas Eve service on Monday, December 24, 6:00-7:00pm. We’ll celebrate the birth of our Savior together through song and Scripture. It’s for the whole family; no childcare is provided.  If helpful, consider using the flyer in the bulletin on Sunday (or social media, facebook or instagram) to invite a next-door neighbor, friend, coworker, fellow student, etc!

December Sunday Schedule – December 23 & 30
On December 23 & 30, we will have identical 9:30am and 11:00am services. No Sunday School; childcare for ages 3 and under for the entirety of each service; ages 4-8 dismissed after worship in each service.

Anticipating Jesus this season
You may notice some differences in our Sunday worship during December, including songbooks, instrumentalists, and Christmas carols! Pastor Tom and the worship team have crafted a special month to help us prepare our hearts during Jesus’ advent, leading up to our “King is Coming” focus on Christmas Eve.

Laying Hold
Continuing in a series in the book of Joshua called “From Promise to Victory,” Pastor Jack preached from Joshua chapter 13. Though the Israelite’s had possession of the land there was still work to be done to fully claim it. We can apply this to our own lives by remembering that though we have been given new life in Jesus, we must not grow complacent, but instead seek to cooperate with the Holy Spirit daily as He sanctifies us, rooting out the sin in our lives and growing our love for Jesus. Listen to “Laying Hold”
